Don't Underestimate Obesity, The Impact Of Obesity Can Disrupt Blood Pressure To Trigger Heart Disease

TANGERANG - Don't underestimate obesity, Head of Tangerang City Health Office, dr. Dini Anggraeni said the impact of obesity can disrupt blood pressure to trigger heart disease.

"Obesity is not a good condition. The most feared health impact from obesity is disturbing blood pressure. So, it can trigger heart disease or be related to blood vessels," said Dr. Dini in Tangerang, quoted from ANTARA, Saturday, May 18.

He explained that obesity is a type of disease like fever that must be arranged. Because in the future, there will definitely be complaints among sufferers. With the proportion of excess body, of course it can interfere with a person's activities while reducing productivity.

"For example, when climbing the stairs, the pain of the knee joints is due to bearing the burden on the body is excessive," he said.

Meanwhile, medical obesity factors such as genetics, the environment, healthy living behavior to a balanced diet are not nutritional.

"Moreover, the presence of easy ordering technology that triggers the public to order ready-to-eat food which is not necessarily guaranteed for health. Lack of behavior or excessive sleep to stress can also trigger obesity," he said.

He explained that obesity cases can be anticipated from an early age by applying a healthy lifestyle, including adequate sleep.

The average duration of sleep that is good for adults is 8-9 hours per day. Then, try to be active in your daily life by avoiding playing games.

"Do regular sports activities 150 minutes a week or 30 minutes per day, for example walking healthy, cycling to swimming. Of course, avoid consuming unhealthy foods, high in sugar, salt and calories," he said.

For information, based on the results of basic health research by the Indonesian Ministry of Health, obesity cases in Indonesia continued to increase from 15 percent in 2013 to 25 percent in 2023.
