In the championship which lasted during May 15-20, FPTI deployed nine athletes to compete in men's speed, women's speed, and combined numbers.

Previously, FPTI Deputy General Chair Herry Heryyawan explained that the Shanghai series was included in the Olympic qualifying session so that the podium winners would automatically be included in the list of athletes who would fight at the Paris Olympics.

"We believe the athletes will issue all their best potential in the competition," he said.

Currently, FPTI has donated two athletes who have pocketed tickets to compete in the world's highest sporting event in Paris, namely Desak Made Rita Kusuma Dewi, the women's speed number and Rahmat Adi Mulyono in the men's speed number.

Herry hopes that the number of rock climbing athletes to Paris will increase by making the best achievements in the qualifying championship in Shanghai.

"Hopefully in the Shanghai tournament, there will be one more son and one more daughter who will qualify (Paris Olympics), the opportunity is wide open for Indonesia," he concluded.
