Officially, FIFA Appoints Brazil To Host The 2027 Women's World Cup

JAKARTA - FIFA has finished holding the 74th FIFA Congress which took place in Bangkok, Thailand. As a result, Brazil was chosen to host the 2027 Women's World Cup.

Reporting from the official FIFA website, Saturday, Brazil received 119 votes in the election to beat the host together, namely Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany, which garnered 78 votes.

"At the 74th FIFA Congress in Bangkok, Thailand, Brazil was announced as the host country of the tenth edition of the Women's World Cup which will be held in 2027, becoming the first South American country to host a tournament," wrote the official FIFA website, quoted from ANTARA, Saturday, May 18.

"This announcement came after the most comprehensive Women's World Cup bidding process ever, and for the first time was decided through an open vote at the FIFA Congress. Brazil received 119 votes while bids with Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany received 78 votes," wrote the official FIFA website.

The 2027 Women's World Cup will be the tenth edition of the tournament that is held every four years. The 2027 Women's World Cup will mark the tenth edition of the tournament that has grown since it started in China in 1991. Since the opening tournament, Sweden, the United States, Germany, Canada, France, and Australia & Aotearoa New Zealand (the co-host) have all hosted at least one edition.

Currently, the United States is the most successful country in this championship by winning four titles, followed by Germany with two world titles. Then Japan, Norway, and defending champions Spain each collected one title.
