1,798 Riau Hajj Candidates Already In Medina

JAKARTA - A total of 1,798 Riau Hajj candidates have departed from the Batam embarkation to Amir Muhammad Bin Abdul Aziz International Airport in Medina so that four prospective Riau Hajj pilgrims have been in Medina.

"Today, four Riau groups departed from the Batam Embarkation to Medina. The congregation consists of pilgrims from Pekanbaru City, Indragiri Hilir Regency and Kampar Regency and is in good health," said Acting Head of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religion Riau Province H. Muliardi, in Pekanbaru, quoted from Antara, Saturday, May 18.

He said there were two Riau Hajj candidates who underwent treatment, namely one person being treated at the Batam Hospital and another at the Batam embarkation. If they have received the status of being able to fly from the KKP, they will immediately get a seat of the plane to leave.

Muliardi said that today he also entered the JCH from Indragiri Hilir Regency with 142 people and Siak Regency with 142 people, and Siak with 300 people, and 8 cluster officers and areas who are members of the BTH-07 Group.

"Alhamdulillah, the congregation who is already in Medina is in good and healthy condition, the congregation is carrying out arbain and pilgrimages and taking advantage of time to deepen the knowledge of Hajj rituals, led by each worship guide," he said.

He mentioned that 195 male BTH-06 cliaters, 255 female, with the oldest congregation members on behalf of Ali Hamid Ahmad (84) and the youngest on behalf of Rahman Ramadhan (20) and the number of elderly as many as 63 people.

The Riau Ministry of Religion noted that 5,318 Hajj candidates from Riau departed in two waves, the first from the country to Amir Muhammad bin Abdul Aziz International Airport (AMAA) in Medina from 12-23 May 2024.

JCH Riau, who departed in the second wave, May 21-1 June 2024 from the country to King Abdul Azis International Airport (KAAIA) in Jeddah.

A total of 5,318 Hajj candidates for Riau Province are members of the Batam Hajj Embarkation (BTH). Riau pilgrims no longer use the Riau Hajj Embarkation.
