Ukraine Attacks Russian-controlled Air Base, 4 Fighter Jets Burnt
JAKARTA - Ukraine's long-range attack on an air base in the Belbek region of Crimea, which is controlled by Russia, destroyed a number of fighter jets.
The Ukrainian attack also damaged fuel facilities near the main runway, US commercial satellite company Maxar said.
The company cited satellite imagery taken on Thursday, May 16, showing two MiG-31 fighter jets and Su-27 fighter jets destroyed. One MiG-29 fighter also appears to be damaged.

Ukraine has not publicly claimed responsibility for the attack on the airbase.
But the Russian Ministry of Defense said Ukraine launched an attack on Crimea. Its air defense forces also intercepted five long-range missiles, ATACMS.
