BAIC Launches Off-Road BJ40 Plus SUV At Malaysian Market, This Is The Price
JAKARTA - Beijing Automotive Group (BAIC) has not only penetrated the Indonesian market, but has also made its debut in Malaysia by launching two models at once, namely X55 II and BJ40 Plus, an off-road-style SUV that is quite interesting.
According to the Paultan page, Friday, May 17, these two models can already be ordered. The BJ40 Plus is expected to be sold at a price of 180,000-90,000 ringgit or around Rp600 million, and will be assembled by the EP Manufacturing (EPMB) at its plant in Melaka, with deliveries starting in the fourth quarter of this year.
In specifications, the BJ40 Plus has a length of 4,645 mm, a width of 1,925 mm, and a height of 1,871 mm, as well as a wheelbase of 2,745 mm. The front design with a grip of five holes and a bumper shield provides a dashing display, equipped with LED headlights, day lights, and LED combination back lights.
In the cabin, the car offers a leather seat, leather wheel circumference, dual-zone air conditioner, 12.3-inch LCD instrument panel, 10-inch mid-touch screen, and ambient lighting. In addition, there are two USB ports, six-speaker audio system, and a backward camera. The back bag has a capacity of 532 liters, which can be expanded to 965 liters by folding the rear seat.
Only one SUV variant will be sold in Malaysia, namely a variant with a 2.0 liter turbocharged engine that produces 221 hp and 380 Nm torque. This machine is paired with an automatic transmission of eight ZF speeds and a Borg-Warner half-wheel drive system, which offers three modes: 2H, 2L, and 4L.

In Indonesia, BJ40 Plus has also been present. Although the official price has not been disclosed, the estimated price is IDR 799 million to IDR 860 million on the road (OTR) Jakarta. The official price will be announced at the GIIAS 2024 event.
