89 Residents In Gunungkidul Diare Mass, Allegedly Strong From 1000-Day Warning Food

GUNUNGKIDUL - The Gunungkidul District Health Office, Yogyakarta Special Region, identified the cause of suspected food poisoning which caused 89 residents of Padukuhan Joho, Kalurahan Kalitekuk, to experience mass diarrhea.Head of the Gunungkidul Health Service Ismono in Gunungkidul said the Health Office received a report from Panewu/Camat Semin on Thursday at around 11.00 WIB that residents in Padukuhan Joho, Kalurahan Kalitekuk, experienced diarrhea."Panewu reported the number of residents who were diarrhea as many as 89 people, namely 79 people in Padukuhan Joho and 10 people outside Padukuhan Joho. Based on the report, we sent officers to identify the cause of the diarrhea," said Ismono.He said they had diarrhea, but were not accompanied by vomiting. Of the 89 people who were diarrhea, five people were hospitalized."There were 13 people who were rushed to the Semin I Health Center. Then they were treated at the Semin 1 Health Center, there were four people, and one person was taken to the Wonosari Hospital, because the puskesmas room was full," he said.Ismono said that based on the results of the sample test, they experienced diarrhea allegedly due to bacteria. However, his party could not confirm where the bacteria came from.Based on people's confessions in Joho, they consumed food for the 1000th anniversary of the day the deceased was cooked on Tuesday (14/5) night at around 21.00 WIB, and distributed to residents last Wednesday around 13.00 WIB."Residents feel a diarrhea on Wednesday 23.00 WIB until Thursday (16/5) around 02.00 WIB," said Ismono.He said the Health Office through the Semin I Health Center took food samples ranging from rendang meat, rendang spices, tofu, chilies, to water to be examined in the laboratory."Hopefully there will be no casualties and this mass diarrhea can be overcome," he said.Meanwhile, the Head of the Semin I Health Center, Jumantoro, said that his party had alerted a number of ambulances in Padukuhan Joho to anticipate the need for residents at any time.Four residents are being treated at the Semin I Health Center because the diarrhea is continuous and they are worried that they will be weak, so an infusion is needed. For one person who is being treated at the Wonosari Hospital, because he has a history of illness.
"Officers are still there right now. Ambulances, Panewu, residents, Babinsa, Bhabinkamtibmas are on standby. If the condition is weak, the puskesmas is ready 24 hours," he said.
