According to him, the perpetrator promised at a time when the buyer made a payment of 50 percent of the agreed price, the construction of the house would be carried out. However, the developer replaced the plot land that had been agreed upon to another location with the reason that there was a problem. "As soon as the maturity was approaching, this suspect passed to another location. Because he felt cheated, the complainant asked for money again, but it could never be done, so he then reported to the Malang Police on March 4, 2024," he said. The perpetrator offered 28 plots in the Karangploso District area. It is estimated that the number of victims of the plot land sale fraud reached tens of people. "For this suspect, we have just processed it based on three reports," he said. In uncovering the case, the Malang Police have examined seven witnesses including the complainant. In addition, the Girimulyo Village Apparatus, the Malang Regency Cipta Karya Housing and Settlement Office were also asked for information by the Malang Police. The suspect charged under Article 378 of the Criminal Code (KUHP) with a penalty of four years in prison, as well as Article 154 Juncto Article 137 of Law Number 1 Year 2011 concerning housing with a maximum penalty of five years.
