Hundreds Of Residents' Houses In South OKU, South Sumatra, Flooded
OGAN KOMERING ULU - Hundreds of houses in South Sumatran Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU) Regency were hit by floods due to overflowing of the Saka and Selabung rivers, disrupting community activities in the area.
"Last night's high rainfall at around 23.42 WIB caused flooding that hit several villages in South OKU," said Head of the Emergency and Logistics Division of the South OKU Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Heri Pramono as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, May 16.
He explained that the flood-affected areas include Simpang Pendagan Village, Talang Bandung, Kisau Village, Tekanan Village, Tanjung Sari, Batu Country, and Madura Village.
Although there were no casualties, as a result of the natural disaster, it was recorded that around 244 houses were flooded, with a water level of between 30 centimeters and one meter.

"Currently we are still collecting data on flood victims and what public facilities are affected by the disaster," he said.
The South OKU BPBD deployed dozens of personnel to the location of the natural disaster to help evacuate valuables belonging to residents from the flood.
