Thailand Open 2024 Results: Komang And Ester Different Fate
JAKARTA A different fate was experienced by the women's singles badminton players Komang Ayu Cahya Dewi and Ester Nurumi Tri Wardoyo in the first round of the Thailand Open 2024.
Komang went through the first half after going through a three-game struggle, while Ester had to go home early from the BWF Super 500 level tournament.
Komang pocketed the second round ticket after stopping Hong Kong's representative, Saloni Samirfer Mehta, with a score of 21-17, 13-21, and 21-11 at Nimibutr Stadium, Bangkok, Wednesday, May 15, 2024, noon WIB.
This 21-year-old badminton player is Indonesia's first women's singles to advance to the round of 16 from the four representatives sent.
She will next meet Sim Yu Jin. This South Korean women's singles qualified for the second round after stopping the fifth seed from China, Zhang Yi Man.

"To face tomorrow's match, the focus must be increased again. Hopefully the adaptation can be even better. It won't be easy. I will try my best," said Komang.
Meanwhile, Ester was hit by a comeback from India's representative, Ashmita Chaliha. He won the first difficult game before the opponent dominated the game in the next two games.
"Unfortunately, I didn't make it to the second half. From the side of the game, the opponent is a player with the type of attack. He also played hard," said Ester after the match.
Apart from Ester, the men's doubles Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Moh Reza Pahlevi Isfahani also felt defeat. The eighth seed was defeated against Ming Che Lu/Tang Kai Wei from China Taipei.
This morning, before the names above competed, the mixed doubles pair Jafar Hidayatullah/Aisyah Salsabila Putri Pranata had already passed the first round.
The tickets obtained by Jafar/Aisyah also ensured that all five mixed doubles pairs who played in this event qualified for the second round.
