Bappenas: The Great Framework Of RPJMN 2025-2029 Eliminate Extreme Poverty

JAKARTA - The Ministry of National Development Planning (PPN)/National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) stated that the big framework of the 2025-2029 National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN) is to eliminate extreme poverty.

As of 2023, the poverty rate in Indonesia reached 9.36 percent and the extreme poverty rate was below 1.12 percent.

"The large framework is still the same for eliminating extreme poverty, but we will also focus on integrating for welfare programs, then business programs, and ensuring that the graduation of people's welfare can occur," said the Director of Poverty Reduction and Community Empowerment of the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas Tirta Sutedjo in the Forum Knowledge agenda with the theme "Strategy for Poverty Reduction: Current Challenges and Future Opportunities" virtually in Jakarta, Wednesday, May 15.

The RPJMN 2025-2029 is focused on strengthening the program graduation scheme implementation platform, program integration for social assistance (bansos) and community empowerment, as well as ensuring that the distribution and implementation of social assistance programs can be carried out based on strong data and digitally with an adaptive approach.

There are several targets needed to achieve the goals set until 2029. Starting from increasing the level of social assistance accuracy to 70 percent from the current 42 percent, to reducing the poverty rate in the range of 4.5-5 percent.

The policy direction is for population and employment. This is expected by all people in their entire life cycle to get adequate facilitation and social protection, in accordance with the vulnerabilities and social conditions of the community," he said, as reported by Antara.

On this occasion, the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas also encouraged the One Data Indonesia (SDI) policy to be implemented with good data and high level of accuracy in order to overcome extreme poverty and poverty.

Efforts to realize SDI include carrying out Social-Economic Registration (Regsosek) which is expected to be integrated with the existing system. That way, updating data is more efficient and all agencies can use the same data.

"Regsosek has also been strengthened by the SEPTAKAT application (Plancanament System, Budgeting, Analysis, Monitoring & Evaluation of Integrated Poverty) as tools for the management and utilization of Regsosek data to be analyzed and can be used by all stakeholders," he said.

In the future, Tirta continued, opportunities to improve poverty reduction strategies will be carried out in a number of ways. Some of them are increasing the accuracy of the target and quality of the program by ensuring the continuity of complementarity and implementation of adaptive social protection supported by good funding and governance, as well as increasing public education so that they can participate by providing input to the government.

"We also hope to get input from all of you in order to sharpen, finalize the RPJMN which is currently in the process of being prepared and finalized," he said.
