Postecoglou Dilema: Fans Want Spurs To Play From City So Arsenal Don't Win The League
JAKARTA - Ange Postecoglou is in a dilemma. Tottenham Hotspur fans want their team to lose to Manchester City in the match week 36 of the 2023/2024 Premier League, Wednesday, May 15, 2024, early morning WIB.
Spurs supporters prefer Manchester City to win the 2023/2024 Premier League over their rivals in London City, Arsenal.
Postecoglou clearly can't understand the Tottenham fan.
The Gunners currently hold a two-point lead at the top of City's standings. While The Citizens have one game more than Arsenal.
Victory over Spurs could bring City back to the top position. Pep Guardiola's men are just waiting for the results of Arsenal vs Everton's last match and City will have to win again against West Ham in the final week to become the league champions.

"If you use social media then maybe 99 percent of supporters don't (want Spurs to win)," said Postecoglou.
"For me, I don't understand it, I'll never understand it. I understand competition."
"I've been part of one of the biggest clubs in the world in recent years with Celtic and Rangers."
"I understand the rivalry, but I never and will never understand if someone wants their own team to lose," said Ange Postecoglou.
Ange Postecoglou further said that the fans' wishes were against the principles, causing a dilemma.
He said that the coach's job was none other than to bring victory to the club he carpentry.
The Greek coach considered that the fans' desire to see Arsenal suffer made his team unfavorable.
He emphasized that whatever the situation, he would still target Tottenham's victory.
"Sports is not about that. That's not what I love about this game. What I like more than anything in this game is competitiveness, challenging myself to beat someone and be successful."
" Anything outside of that has nothing to do with sports. It has nothing to do with me."
"If other people want to be treated like that so they enjoy the suffering of others, that's not the way I live my life and the way I view my role."
"My role is to bring success to this football club and no matter how much the proportion is. Whether it's two or 99 percent of the people you know, I know 100 percent of Spurs supporters want us to win, be successful and win trophies."
"That is unquestionable and our victory tomorrow will help us bring joy to Spurs' 100 percent supporters," Postecoglu said again.
Postecoglou delivered a similar tone a few weeks ago when Spurs played against Arsenal. He believes that victory could thwart Mikel Arteta's team title.
However, Tottenham lost 2-3 to the Gunners and have only won one win in six meetings against the current top three teams.
Looking at that minor note, Postecoglu wants to fix it, including when facing Manchester City.
"You think the majority of our fans want us not to win tomorrow? I don't see it that way. I think the majority of our fans will create the atmosphere they always created in our home game."
"We have the opportunity to measure ourselves against the best tomorrow, a team that is consistently struggling to win awards. A team we want to imitate one day."
"The best way to do this is to measure yourself against them by being yourself. We'll go there tomorrow, play our football, and see where it will take us," said the 58-year-old coach.
Spurs will not be strengthened by Yves Bissouma against City. He joined Fraser Forster (leg), Destiny Udogie (paha), Ryan Sessegnon (hamstring), Ben Davies (betis), forced Solomon (lutut), Timo Werner (hamstring) and Richarlison.
Tottenham ended four consecutive defeats with a 2-1 win over Burnley in the latest week.
Postecoglou has repeatedly confirmed its desire to win two more to close the 2023/2024 Premier League sweetly.
"It is hard work, persistence, resilience, quality that will take us to where we want. Don't be fooled by false awareness or any short-term reaction. Stay on track," said Postecoglou.
"Third, knowing what true success is like. True success looks like a trophy."
"Whatever is among them, the right to boast, whatever it is, means absolutely nothing to me, to anyone involved with me. We have tomorrow's game that we want to win," he said again.
Tottenham Hotspur will visit Sheffield United in the final week of the 2023/2024 Premier League.
They certainly still have a chance to go to the top four, aka the Champions League zone if they win the remaining two league games.
