Bey Machmudin Rejects Democratic Offers To Advance West Java Gubernatorial Election 2024
JAKARTA - Chairman of the West Java Democratic Party DPD Anton Sukartono Suratto revealed that their offer at the Acting Governor of West Java Bey Kalioni Machmudin to be promoted in the West Java gubernatorial election in 2024 was rejected.
According to Anton, the trial approached the Acting Governor of West Java because Bey was considered a potential figure, but the offer was rejected because Bey did not have the ambition to run in the 2024 West Java gubernatorial election.
"We asked if he wanted to continue again or not. It turned out that he didn't want to continue, yes, that's it. The point is we will support whatever they are doing today and in the future until it's finished," said Anton after meeting Bey at the Sate building in Bandung, reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, May 14.
Therefore, the Democrats will again carry out political safaris, and those closest to them will meet PKS and Golkar in an effort to knit the coalition looking at the West Java Pilgub 2024.
"Today we meet PKS, the day after tomorrow with Golkar. We want to know the person. Whether it fits us or not. The point is that the Democrats will carry the best for West Java," he said.
Meanwhile, he was asked about the internal Democrat cadres to run in the 2024 West Java gubernatorial election, considering that previously it was reported that Dede Yusuf Macan Effendi was interested in participating in the fight.
Anton explained that the former Deputy Governor of West Java admitted that he felt at home in Senayan, so he decided to stay focused in the DPR, continuing the role of the second period in the national parliament.

Likewise, the former Regent of Karawang Cellica Nurrachadiana, said Anton, who has yet to express his interest in competing in the 2024 West Java gubernatorial election contestation.
Although the West Java Democratic DPD, he said, is ready to fully support the fight for the number one seat in West Java.
"Nothing. Dede Yusuf, Cellica don't want to. We encourage Dede Yusuf, we also encourage Cellica. But on their way they prefer to be in the DPR RI," he explained.
Apart from that, Anton ensured that the West Java Democratic DPD would continue to conduct screenings for the 2024 West Java gubernatorial election. This includes opening up opportunities for Ridwan Kamil and Dedi Mulyadi, if they are interested in determining through the Democrats or forming a coalition in the future.
"We'll see who wants to register with the Democratic Party. RK is back in London, we'll wait for him to come. Can he do it, whether he wants to go forward or not. Because I and Kang RK want to go to DKI too. Kang Dedi Mulyadi said he also wanted to come forward. We'll hear, of course we will support who wants to register with the Democrats," he said.
