West Java Provincial Government Wants To Lower Avtur Fees To Expand Routes On BIJB Kertajati

The West Java (West Java) Provincial Government seeks to reduce the cost of aviation fuel at Kertajati International Airport (BIJB), Majalengka, to increase the number of flight routes from the infrastructure.

"Because this is the momentum of the hajj, we are currently trying to reduce the cost of the avtur at Kertajati Airport," said West Java Governor Beyvi Machmudin as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, May 14.

Bey revealed that the cost of avtur at a difference of IDR 1,000 will encourage airline interest to open a new flight route at Kertajati.

"There are still few flights in Kertajati, with this decline in avtur, only one thousand rupiahs, it has been very helpful to attract new routes (flights)," he said.

To lower the cost of avtur, Bey explained that his party had thought about taking the avtur directly through the Balongan route in an effort to cut the distribution chain.

Currently, the avtur fee at Kertajati is Rp. 14,000 while in Cengkareng it is at Rp. 13,000.

"We are thinking of taking it directly from the Balongan route in the pipes," he said.

Bey said Pertamina welcomed it, and will help the West Java Provincial Government, but currently supply from Balongan requires a new network.

"Later, whether to create a new one, we ask Pertamina to make it. Pertamina's response is good, it will help," said Bey.
