Bela Ghufron Who Asked About The Transfer Of Ministry Of Agriculture Employees, Alexander Marwata: Human Nature
JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Alexander Marwata assessed that his colleague, Nurul Ghufron, did not violate ethics even though he asked about the transfer of employees at the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan). He said, what was done was because he felt human to see that there were parties who had difficulties.
This was conveyed by Alexander after testifying at the ethics trial of Nurul Ghufron. The Deputy Chairperson of the KPK was tried for allegedly abusing his authority after communicating with the Ministry of Agriculture to discuss employee mutations.
"I personally don't have any (implementation of ethics, ed) violations. So it's more likely in nature, what, it's more humane when a friend is made difficult to propose mutations for more than a year," Alexander told reporters at the ACLC KPK building, Rasuna Said, South Jakarta, Tuesday, May 14.
"Even though the mutation is so that she can gather with her husband. Family. So it is more humane," he continued.
Even so, Alexander invited the KPK Supervisory Board to investigate alleged ethical violations against Ghufron. "I think this is in my opinion, you know," he said.
"My glasses. But for the eyes of other Councils, I don't know. That's right, maybe, yes, the ethical level of the KPK Council is higher," said Alexander.
Furthermore, Alexander also ensured that Ghufron's efforts to help transfer this Ministry of Agriculture employee had nothing to do with the corruption case being handled. He said, this incident occurred before an investigation that eventually ensnared former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo.
"(The communication between Ghufron and the Ministry of Agriculture, ed) is far outside the case that is currently being tried. The communication is March 2022, the case from the Ministry of Agriculture itself is 2023 if I'm not mistaken," he explained.
As previously reported, the Deputy Chairperson of the KPK, Nurul Ghufron, will be tried for ethics because he is suspected of communicating with the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) regarding employee mutations on Thursday, May 2.
The KPK Council decided that the trial would be held because it had a number of evidences. Including information from related parties, such as former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo.
However, because Ghufron was not present, the KPK Council postponed and the trial was held again on May 14.
Ghufron's absence was caused by filing a lawsuit with the State Administrative Court (PTUN). He claimed that the alleged ethics committed could not be followed up by the KPK Council because it had expired.
This is because this act occurred in March 2022 and was only followed up after a report was made in December 2023.
