The Chancellor of Riau University (Unri) Prof. Sri Indarti officially withdrew his report at the Riau Regional Police Special Criminal Investigation Directorate regarding the defamation case in front of students who were reported for uploading criticism against the increase in tuition fees.
"My presence here is to withdraw my report on behalf of the plaintiff's @aliansimahasiswa account. Assistance from the police, it turns out to be my own student account, so we will not continue this case," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, May 13.
The revocation of this report was carried out in front of the reported student, namely a student namedKhariqAnhardanDitreskrimsusPolda Riau. The Chancellor admitted that at first he did not know who the owner of the account was.
"After being assisted by the police, it was discovered that the owner was my own student and so I did not continue this process," he said.

Meanwhile, Khariq Anhar hopes that this incident will no longer be an anti-critic campus and will report his students to the police. He hopes that in the future it will be even more open to discussion spaces.
"It is appropriate because of my relationship with the rector of fellow academics. We have a relationship as educators and also those who are educated, so of course the learning will always be on campus," he said.
Prof. Sri Indarti previously made a report to the Riau Police on Friday (15/3). The report relates to the content uploaded to the plaintiff's Instagram account @aliansimahasiswak.
In the upload, Unri's sky blue alma mater is being sold at a relatively high price. At the end of the video, it was stated 'Sri Indarti as Chancellor as a Riau University Education Broker' and displayed her photo. On this basis, Khariq is suspected of attacking other people's good names.
