Handling West Sumatra's Cold Lava Flood Survivors, Ministry Of Health Activates Health Crisis Center
The Health Crisis Center (Puskris) of the Indonesian Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) has prepared a number of steps to deal with cold lava flood survivors that hit several areas of West Sumatra (West Sumatra).
"First, the Puskris will activate the Health Emergency Operation Center to deal with flood victims," said Health Crisis Management Analyst at the Ministry of Health Albet Numbered in Agam Regency, West Sumatra, Monday, May 13, as reported by Antara.
Then, the Ministry of Health's Puskris will mobilize Health-Emergency Medical Team (TCK-EMT) Reserves, as well as facilitate all refugees who are at SD Negeri 08 Kubang Duo, Agam Regency.
"We will maximize all human resources here to deal with and help flood survivors," said Albet.
During his visit to Nagari (village) Bukik Batabuah, Canduang District, Agam Regency, which was affected by cold lava floods, Albet reminded the public to be aware of a number of post-disaster infectious diseases.
Diseases that have the potential to occur and need to be watched out for are diarrhea and upper respiratory tract infections (ARI). Because, after a cold lava disaster occurs, clean water sources will usually be disrupted.
