Up 75.24 Percent, AirAsia Successfully Pockets Revenue Of IDR 6.62 Trillion
JAKARTA - PT AirAsia Indonesia Tbk recorded a significant increase in financial performance. Throughout 2023, the company's revenue increased 75.24 percent on an annual basis or year on year (yoy) to Rp6.62 trillion.
President Director of Indonesia AirAsia, Veranita Yosephine Sinaga, said that last year's increase in operating income mostly came from flight operations.
"Where the sales of airplane seat tickets contributed Rp5.63 trillion, followed by revenue from baggage of Rp731.74 billion. In addition, revenue also came from flight services of Rp125.85 billion, cargo of Rp44.26 billion and charter of Rp14.08 billion," he said in an official statement, Sunday, May 12.
Veranita said Denpasar was the main source of revenue of IDR 2.63 trillion, followed by Jakarta worth IDR 2.58 trillion. Meanwhile, Surabaya and Medan recorded IDR 784 billion and IDR 624 billion, respectively.
Despite the increase in fuel prices and repair and maintenance costs, Veranita continued, the company still generates revenue.
Furthermore, Veranita also said that Indonesia AirAsia's management is actively obtaining funding sources through several potential schemes.

"In addition, the management of PT AirAsia Indonesia Tbk. (AAID / CMPP) is also actively looking for solutions to overcome this challenge and ensuring the company's operational continuity," he explained.
As of March 2024, Indonesia AirAsia served 33 routes, including 12 domestic routes and 21 international routes. The level of timeliness (OTP/On Time Performance) increased 14 percent from 73 percent in the first quarter of 2023 to 87 percent in the first quarter of 2024.
The passenger occupancy rate (Load Factor) in the first quarter of 2024 was also recorded at 83 percent, an increase of 2 percent from the first quarter of 2023.
The number of flights during the first quarter of 2024 was recorded as 10,874 flights increased by 30 percent from the first quarter of 2023. Total passengers were recorded at 1.63 million or an increase of 33 percent from the first quarter of 2023.
