2 Villages In North Konawe, North Sulawesi, Isolated By Floods To Close Roads
SULTRA - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) noted that two isolated villages were due to road access being covered by floods of the Lalindu River and Lasolo River in North Konawe, North Sulawesi (Sultra) since Friday, May 3.
"The village is Padalere Utama Village which is located in Wiwirano District and Aseni Nunulai Village in Asera District, which is North Konawe," said Head of BPDB North Konawe Muh Aidin in North Sulawesi, Sunday, May 12, as reported by Antara.
Especially in Padalere Utama Village, which is located in Wiwirano District, it is located on the banks of the Lalindu River, which has a flyover about 60 meters long with a width of 1.5 meters which was built in 2016.
The bridge is above the Lalindu River which is the only hope of access to residential areas at this time, and is still covered by floods.
"We received temporary data, about 94 families with 300 people but some houses were not touched by floods in the area," said Aidin.

Meanwhile, some residents of Aseni Nunulai Village in Asera District who are close to the Lasolo River, chose to leave their homes and chose to flee in the hills.
It is not yet known how many refugees are in the hills because BPBD has not been able to reach evacuations due to slippery and muddy road access. This is the cause of the undistributed food needs assistance.
"Residents in the hilly area have not been identified temporarily," he said.
Aidin hopes that there will be no landslides due to the high intensity of rainfall. Some residents still choose to stay at their homes, but the BPBD is currently coordinating with the local village head so that they continue to provide information as soon as possible, if there are residents who ask for evacuation.
"Hopefully there will be no landslides so that residents remain safe in the area," he concluded.
Currently, BPBD is still thinking about finding a solution to the distribution of residents affected by the flash flood, namely Padalere Utama Village in Wiwirano District and Aseni Nunulai Village, Asera District, North Konawe.
