Ahok Asks The Governor Of Jakarta Who Has Just Given A Cellphone Number To Residents, Why?

JAKARTA - Former Governor of DKI Jakarta Basuki Tjahaja Purnama or Ahok hopes that whoever is elected as governor of Jakarta in the 2024 Pilkada will give his cellphone number to residents.

This was conveyed in a video entitled 'Ahok Answers The Ideal Figure To Become Governor of Jakarta' on his personal YouTube account. Ahok hopes that the new governor can receive direct complaints from his citizens.

"I encourage anyone to become governor of Jakarta to submit their official cellphone number personally, they must be able to accept residents coming to make complaints," Ahok said in a video quoted on Saturday, May 11.

The former President Commissioner of PT Pertamina (Persero) said that the governor is a person who is obliged to help residents. "You are parents, you are the leader in charge of helping the poor and needing help," he said.

As a leader, the governor should always monitor his citizens. Ahok also said that this figure must provide social justice for the citizens of Jakarta.

"You are the leader in charge of administering social justice so that the stomach is full of the people of Jakarta, their minds can be calm, and their wallets can be full," he said.

Furthermore, Ahok also talked about the importance of budget transparency. "Well, that's what I hope for from a governor in Jakarta in the future," he said.

"You have to dare to be transparent in all budgets. Thank you," concluded Ahok.
