There Are 2 Long Weekends In May, Additional Flights Will Be Prepared At Samarinda Airport

JAKARTA - Samarinda Airport will provide excellent service to passengers during the long weekend holiday in May 2024.

The Airport Organizing Unit (UPBU) Aji Pengeran Tumenggung (APT) Pranoto Samarinda is committed to providing excellent service to passengers by seeking additional comfortable facilities, including preparing additional flights.

"Currently, the airport is still maintaining existing facilities, but plans to add new facilities that are still in the processing stage. We are trying to always improve passenger comfort," said Head of UPBU Technical and Operations Section APT Pranoto Samarinda Dwi Muji quoting Antara.

Given that May has quite a lot of holidays and long weekends, APT Pranoto Airport Samarinda projects an increase in passenger flow. In the event of a surge in passengers, the airport cooperates with airlines to add additional aircraft or extra flights according to the situation of passenger flow.

In the last ten days in May 2024, APT Pranoto Airport Samarinda recorded a total of 23,961 passenger flows. This number consists of 14,060 arriving passengers and 9,901 departing.

Compared to the same period in April 2024, there was a decrease of about 20.7 percent at the peak of the homecoming current at that time. "This decline is also due to the high flow of passengers coming from other regions compared to those departing," said Dwi Muji.

To support passenger mobility, APT Pranoto Airport Samarinda is served by several airlines, including Batik Air, Super Air Jet, Lion Air, Wing Air, Citilink, and Printis Susi Air Flights. The most popular flight routes for passengers are Surabaya, Jakarta, Yogyakarta, and Makassar.

"People who will fly at APT Pranoto Airport, to bring goods as needed and not exceed the capacity determined by the airline," said Dwi Muji.

In addition, passengers are also reminded not to carry items that are prohibited by airlines and do not receive goods deposited from unknown people.

"We advise passengers to come to the airport four hours before departure or at least three hours before scheduled departure," said Dwi Muji.

His party also continues to be committed to providing the best service for users of flight services, as well as supporting economic and tourism growth in Samarinda and its surroundings.
