As previously reported, the inactive Governor of North Maluku Abdul Gani Kasuba was again named a suspect in the alleged crime of money laundering (TPPU). This step was taken by the KPK after they developed the bribery case that ensnared Abdul Gani.

As for the bribery case, Abdul Gani is suspected of receiving money related to infrastructure projects in North Maluku, which amounted to Rp500 billion. He manipulated the work so that the work seemed half finished so that the disbursement of the budget could be done.

The KPK suspects that the amount of money that went into Abdul Gani's pocket reached Rp2.2 billion. In addition, he is suspected of receiving deposits from state civil servants (ASN).

The money was then used by Abdul Gani to meet his needs. One of them is paying for lodging to health care.
