Jokowi's Directive To Prabowo By Experts Viewed As An Effort For Government Transition

JAKARTA - Professor of Political Science at Andalas University Prof. Asrinaldi conveyed President Joko Widodo's direction to his cabinet minister to provide data to President-elect Prabowo Subianto as an effort to transition the government.

"Of course this has something to do with the transition of government from Jokowi to Prabowo because after all Prabowo will start the government in October," said Prof. Asrinaldi when contacted by Antara from Jakarta, Friday.

He explained that Prabowo needed these data to find out the administration of the government, which included programs that were implemented or were not implemented, or achievements that had been obtained or not.

"Then the obstacles, analysis, and so on are also important for Prabowo. Moreover, Prabowo also said that he wanted to continue Jokowi's programs, of course what was successful would be maintained, what failed would be improved," he explained.

Therefore, he said that the provision of data carried out by the Jokowi-Ma'ruf Amin government ministers to Prabowo was important.

"And that is also part of President Jokowi's way of being able to influence Prabowo's policy that what they have agreed on can be continued," he said.

Previously, Prabowo while attending the Workhop and the PAN National Coordination Meeting (Rakornas) for the 2024 Pilkada Winning in Jakarta, Thursday (9/5), expressed his gratitude for the assistance provided by Jokowi as part of the transition to government.

"I thank Pak Jokowi. He is really a sincere leader, he helps me, he told all ministers to give me data," he said.

In addition, he explained that Jokowi also asked him to introduce himself to a number of country leaders in the world.

"He even ordered me, you go here, you go there, you introduce yourself to this leader, introduce yourself to the leader because we need investment, we need investment because we need growth," he explained.
