Soekarno-Hatta Airport Ensures Ready To Serve 2024 Hajj Flights

JAKARTA - PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) as the main manager of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Tangerang, Banten, ensures readiness to meet the facilities and services of Hajj transportation 1445 Hijri/2024 AD.

"With careful preparation and implementation of high standards in facilities and services, Soekarno-Hatta Airport is committed to providing a safe, comfortable and regular environment for pilgrims," said Senior Manager of Branch Communication & Legal Soekarno-Hatta Airport M. Holik Muardi in Tangerang, quoted from Antara, Thursday 9 May.

According to him, during the 2024 Hajj season, Soekarno-Hatta International Airport has set a high standard in preparing facilities and services to make it easier for pilgrims to fly to Mecca, with a scheduled departure on May 12-10 June 2024 and a return of June 22-22 July 2024.

In an effort to facilitate the travel process, 12 Saudi Arabian immigration fast track counters (Makkah Route) have been prepared at Terminal 2D. Through Makkah Route, pilgrims can register and verify documents centrally at Soetta Airport, so this will help and reduce the time required for the hajj pilgrims administration process.

"We recognize the importance of this trip for pilgrims and we are determined to make their experience at this airport a noble and unforgettable part of their spiritual journey to the Holy Land," he said.

Various other facilities have also been added, such as chairs in the waiting room, the provision of places of worship (mushala), to the addition of portable toilets.

In serving the implementation of this year's Hajj, said Holik, his party will deploy a total of 3,296 personnel for smooth operation during the departure and return of the pilgrims.

"We have coordinated with the Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia and also representatives of the Government of Saudi Arabia and other related institutions in preparing Hajj transportation facilities. Through intensive coordination, we are trying to ensure that every aspect of the pilgrimage, from registration to arrival in the Holy Land, runs smoothly and efficiently," he said.

He said that Soekarno-Hatta Airport itself plays an important role in the hajj process as the main gateway for Indonesian pilgrims.

As for this year, Soekarno-Hatta Airport is the departure point for 128 groups from DKI Jakarta, Banten, Lampung and West Java at the Pondok Gede and Bekasi Hajj Dormitory Embarkation with a total of 53,621 Hajj candidates.
