Police Call Many Special Plates For Fake ZZ Codes

JAKARTA - The police said that many special number plate vehicles coded ZZ had been prosecuted for violating traffic. However, the majority of the plates used are fake.

"Most of them are because they have committed violations, we stop them, the number is fake. Most of them are," said Traffic Director of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Latif Usman to reporters, Thursday, May 9.

Special plates are said to be very easy to detect. Because, everything has been recorded, both the type of vehicle and the owner. "Yes, there is a list. Which has been printed for this special number," he said.

Latif also emphasized that the use of special plates does not mean that it is free from prosecution. If it violates, a ticket will be imposed.

"So the people who do, use this special number are not free from violations, no. If they commit violations, we will still take action," said Latif.

For information, special plates with the code ZZ are intended for vehicles of TNI-Polri officials, Ministries or institutions at echelon one and two levels. The special plates can only be used in one vehicle for each official given.
