Six Climbers On Mount Lombattang Trapped Successfully Rescued Basarnas

Six students who were trapped while climbing to the top of Mount Lombattang in Bantaeng, South Sulawesi (Sulsel) were rescued by the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) team.Basarnas Operations Director Edy Prakoso in Jakarta, Thursday, said the six students climbed Mount Lombatang on Monday, May 6, to celebrate high school graduation.The six groups of climbers include Arfan Rifai, Muhammad Dayat, Andi Ahmad, Dimas Surya Pratama, Syafiq Abdi Madani, and Wahyu Eka Darma Putra. On their way, they were trapped after one of the people from the group on behalf of Syafiq AM (18), whose right leg sprained when they got off the post nine.Officers at the Makassar SAR Office information command center on Wednesday, May 8, evening received a report from a family of survivors who needed immediate help because they could no longer move.
Alert officers from the Bantaeng SAR Post were deployed to provide assistance and rescue of the climber.Survivors were finally picked up by SAR officers at the fourth post of Mount Lombatang for emergency medical treatment.Medical treatment lasted for five hours, then the groups of climbers were escorted until they arrived safely on Thursday morning, May 9, at the foot of Mount Lombattang.
