Pertamina And Polri Sign National Vital Object Security Cooperation

JAKARTA - Pertamina and the Security Maintenance Agency (Baharkam) of the Indonesian National Police (Polri) signed a cooperation agreement on security assistance and handling violations and/or criminal acts in strategic national vital objects and other vital objects within Pertamina. The agreement was signed in Surabaya, on Tuesday, May 7, 2024.

The purpose of this collaboration is to improve coordination, supervision, and synergy between Pertamina and the National Police, especially Baharkam Polri in maintaining the work environment in Pertamina as an oil and gas company as well as new and renewable energy.

"This is the momentum of sustainability of the cooperation that has been built so far. This cooperation agreement is in the focus of securing Pertamina's assets as a vital national object," said Senior Vice President of HSSE Pertamina Lelin Eprianto in a statement to the media, Wednesday, May 8.

According to Lelin, the potential for crime can now be more sophisticated.

"Seeing this, Pertamina together with Baharkam carried out risk mitigation in tackling increasingly sophisticated modes," explained Lelin.

Head of the National Police's Security Maintenance Agency (Kabaharkam) Komjen Pol Dr. Mohammad Fadil Imran, M.Si., said that this collaboration is the National Police's commitment to building synergy to maintain domestic security, especially in Pertamina's environment.

"Indonesia as the holder full of property rights to natural wealth to create a prosperous and prosperous society. For that, we must protect it together," Fadil said in his remarks.

Furthermore, Fadil said that in taking legal action, it was carried out measuredly, on target, and had a significant impact.

"The conventional way of working in law enforcement must be abandoned immediately. Pertamina's experience in identifying perpetrators, the technology Pertamina has to find out the network is quite powerful ammunition so that people will think again about taking legal action against Pertamina," said Fadli.

Pertamina's Vice President of Corporate Communication Fadjar Djoko Santoso added that Pertamina's synergy with the Police was intensively established, not only in the field of physical but also non-physical assets, such as Pertamina's image management.

"We appreciate the support of the Police and various other institutions in Pertamina, so that we can carry out the role of maintaining national energy resilience and distribution throughout Indonesia properly," added Fadjar.
