Bali Police Prepares To Guard The World Water Forum Delegation Tour

DENPASAR - The Bali Regional Police have prepared an escort and security for the activities of the 10th World Water Forum delegates which will be held from 18 to 26 May 2024.

The Head of Public Relations of the Bali Police, Kombes Jansen Avitus Panjaitan, said that several places that would be visited by delegates during the 10th World Water Forum event, including Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK), the Bali/Bali Turtle Island Development (BTID) Kura, the Mangove Ngurah Rai Grand Forest Park, the Shelter Tsunami Kuta, and the Tabanan Subak Museum.

In addition, the delegates will also visit the Attraction of Jatiluwih UNESCO World Heritage Site Tabanan, Lake Bedugul Temple in Tabanan Regency, Batur Kintamani Lake in Bangli, and Ubud Cultural Village in Gianyar.

"We really set this security starting from the locations visited and securing the routes to be traversed," he said.

Jansen stated that the Bali Police are ready to secure the meeting of the 10th World Water Forum (WWF) in 2024 which will be centered in the area of Indonesian Tourism Development or Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), Nusa Dua, Bali.

Jansen explained that the Bali Police had long ago prepared everything, including the socialization and delivery of security and social order messages to the public, community leaders and religious leaders through the ranks of the Bali Police.

The Bali Police invites all elements of society to support and succeed in the 10th World Water Forum by actively maintaining the security of their respective environments so that Bali tourism remains safe.

The Bali Police also routinely report the development of the security and social security situation and coordinate with the National Police Headquarters, the Udayana Military Command/IX and the Bali Provincial Government, to strengthen synergies both in routine tasks and in the context of securing the World Water Forum.

To support personnel work in the field, said Jansen, the Bali Police have two commercial centers equipped with advanced equipment, expert operators and trained ones located at ITDC Nusa Dua and Mako Polda Bali.

The Bali Police Command Center has more than 1,700 CCTV points installed in various strategic locations throughout Bali, such as the Nusa Dua, Kuta, Sanur, Ubud, Jatiluwih, Kintamani, Bedugul tourist areas and others.

Several points that become the entrance to Bali include Ngurah Rai Airport, Gilimanuk Port, Benoa Port, Padangbai Port and Celukan Bawang Port.

Supervisory cameras are also installed in inter-provincial terminals and on protocol roads, city areas, including other public places and locations deemed prone to other Kamtibmas disturbances.

"All of these CCTVs will connect directly to the monitor screens in the Bali Police Command Center room," he said.

The Bali Police explained that the surveillance cameras owned by the Bali Police currently have various advanced features in controlling police operations that are connected to vital information applications, such as weather information and natural disasters, monitoring traffic flow and vehicle counters passing through and detecting crowds of vehicles, as well as detecting vehicle number plates that are directly integrated with the Korlantas Polri database.

On the surveillance camera, there is also a face identification detection tool that is integrated directly with the Dukcapil database and the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency, including red notices, both foreigners and Indonesian citizens, including terrorist and recidivist data, monitoring GPSranmorpatroli and Guards, as well as monitoring drones at the location where the World Water Forum will be implemented later.

This surveillance camera display that has been connected to the Bali Police Command Center will be used by operators and supervisory leaders of operations to carry out surveillance and control security in the dynamics of operations in the field.
