Inaugurating The Replica Of The Majapahit Palace, Prabowo: Preserve Culture And History Of The Nation

JAKARTA - Indonesian Minister of Defense and President-elect Prabowo Subianto said the construction of a replica of the Majapahit Palace was part of efforts to preserve the nation's culture and history.

"If we don't respect and respect our own culture, who else? No one else will respect us (culture), if we ourselves don't respect it," Prabowo said while attending the inauguration ceremony for the Kraton Majapahit replica in Cipayung, East Jakarta, as quoted from a press release received by ANTARA, Wednesday.

According to Prabowo, the creation of replicas is the right medium to educate the next generation about how big the Majapahit kingdom was in the past.

According to the Minister of Defense, the introduction of such cultural values must be carried out to the next generation so that the nation's identity can survive in the midst of the times.

Prabowo also appreciated the former Head of the State Intelligence Agency (BIN), General TNI (Ret.) AM Hendropriyono as the initiator of the construction of the Majapahit Palace replica.

"This is an initiative, an extraordinary idea from Mr. Hendropriyono," said Prabowo.

Not only that, Prabowo also felt proud to inaugurate this Majapahit Palace replica on Hendropriyono's birthday.

The general chairman of the Gerindra Party hopes that the inauguration of this Majapahit Palace replica can be used as a momentum for the entire community to want to preserve the nation's culture.

The replica is in the form of a palace of the Majapahit Kingdom in East Java in 1292'1526 AD.

This Kraton Majapahit replica was built like the original in the past on a small scale and consisted of a number of facilities such as the real Kraton Majapahit, such as Madakapura Park, Maharaja Hallo Hayam Wuruk, Balairung Mahapatih Gajah Mada and Wilwatakta Square.
