Make Older Photos "Alive" Again Through The MyHeritage Application
JAKARTA - Netizens are being enlivened by old photos that look alive. Many of them re-upload old photos of family or relatives who have died long ago to live again.
Through the MyHeritage application, old photos seem to be moving, blinking, smiling, and turning around as if they were still alive. This application immediately went viral and was widely downloaded to social media.
This image editing-based application was developed by the MyHeritage company, which specializes in developing software and websites related to genealogy. The MyHeritage company was founded by Gilad Japhet.
By using this application, users can create a family tree, search for descendants or ancestors through photos and upload them. The MyHeritage company has developed its application, including the ability to animate static photos by leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) technology through the Deep Nostalgia feature.
"You will have a "wow" moment when you see your precious family photos come to life with the Deep Nostalgia feature", said Japhet.
"Seeing the faces of our beloved ancestors come to life in a video simulation, makes us imagine what they would look like in real life and provides a profound new way to connect with family history", he added, quoted by People.
MyHeritage and D-ID Collaboration
MyHeritage collaborates with a company that focuses on creating video visuals using AI “deep learning” techniques. The company, called D-ID, uses blueprints taken from pre-recorded videos or "drivers". The company can make photos move.
The facial expression is adjusted to the shape of the face in the picture. Thus, static photos can present facial gestures including, smile, blink, turn, nod.

"Technology sometimes needs to simulate parts that do not appear in a real photo, such as teeth or ears, and the quality of the final result may vary", MyHeritage said via their official website.
Now the MyHeritage application is available on the Google PlayStore and on the Apple App Store. Users can already use this application and edit photos so they move like a living person.
