Polisi Setapkan Tersangka Baru Perusakan Kantor Gubernur Jambi, Perannya Provocateur

JAMBI - The Jambi Regional Police (Polda) named one new suspect in the case of vandalizing the Jambi Governor's office some time ago.

Director of the Directorate of Criminal Investigation at the Jambi Police, Police Commissioner Andri Ananta Yudhistira, said the determination of the new suspect was based on the statements of the two previous suspects and evidence showing the involvement of the suspect with the initials H.

"The Jambi Police have named a new suspect in connection with the destruction of the governor's office Article 17O in conjunction with 55 of the Criminal Code because with the evidence and information concerned, H is one of the provoked, resulting in the destruction," said Andri in Jambi, Tuesday, May 7, which was confiscated by Antara.

Andri emphasized that suspect H acted as a provocateur as evidenced by a video of the suspect at the scene at the time.

Currently, he said, suspect H has not been detained and still has to undergo an examination by the police this week.

"This week we summoned the suspect for information," he said.

Furthermore, if from the statement of suspect H it is found that other parties were involved in the destruction of the governor's office, the police are ready to investigate the role of the perpetrator.

If it is confirmed that the perpetrator is involved with evidence, the police will determine other suspects in the case.

Previously, the Jambi Regional Police had named a suspect in the destruction of the Jambi governor's office. The suspect's file had previously entered stage one and was investigated by the prosecutor.

As a result of the destruction of the Jambi governor's office by a coal transportation driver in January 2024, the Jambi Provincial Government reported the incident to the Jambi Regional Police. Losses are destined to reach hundreds of millions of rupiah.
