There Has Been No Invitation To Join, Anies Reveals Permanent Plans Outside Prabowo's Government
JAKARTA - Anies Baswedan revealed plans to stay outside the Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka government in the future. Anies admitted that he adhered to a principle of consistently positioning his political stance.
"Usually, those who get the constitutional mandate of a presidential election process are in the cabinet. Those who do not get the mandate are outside the cabinet. I have said that Pakem from the past," said Anies at his residence, Lebak Bulus area, South Jakarta, Tuesday, May 7.
Anies is a presidential candidate who lost to Prabowo-Gibran in the 2024 presidential election. So, according to Anies, the role outside the government must still be taken by him.
"I feel that the standard should be respected and I plan to respect that standard," said Anies.
Although he admits that he will continue to echo the narrative of change, Anies has not been able to declare that he will definitely be on the path of opposition to the government, as stated by Ganjar Pranowo before.
Anies views that Ganjar can act outside the government because he is a PDIP cadre who has not been included in the Prabowo-Gibran camp until now.
"I'm not in a political party. If Mr. Ganjar is in a political party. I am a citizen and I always say that there will be changes. If I don't join, don't invite me. You want to say no, just invite me yet," he said.

Previously in the Halalbihalal event of the Ganjar-Mahfud National Winning Team (TPN), Monday, May 6, Ganjar stated that he would not join the Prabowo-Gibran government. Ganjar chose to monitor the steps of the elected president and vice president.
"We will guard it properly and I am the first declare, I will not join this government but I have great respect for this government and we will control it in the right way," said Ganjar in an event held at the Ganjar-Mahfud Command Post, Teuku Umar, Menteng, Central Jakarta.
Ganjar said that guarding the government that will run in front is proof that he loves the country. Moreover, the presidential candidate number three assesses that politics must be in an honorable way.
"So the political morality exists," said the former Governor of Central Java.
The right way of politics must go up in class and all of them are equally honorable. There is no need to sneer at each other. Because our most correct sneer is on the right track. What is it? The parliament line. That's the best way we can do the right actions to do a control," continued Ganjar.
