Kadin: Improvement Of Infrastructure And Sanitation Is Important In Achieving Indonesia Gold 2045
JAKARTA - The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) revealed that an increase in water and sanitation infrastructure is important in achieving the vision of Indonesia Gold 2045.
"With an increasing focus on food, energy and water self-sufficiency, improving household water and sanitation infrastructure is a major concern for both the government and the private sector so that the current direction of policy makes water clean energy and renewable energy in 2024, especially in achieving the vision of Indonesia Gold 2045," said Deputy Chairperson of Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Bobby Gafur Umar in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Tuesday, May 7.
According to Bobby Gafur, Indonesia is still faced with serious challenges related to access to clean water and proper sanitation, especially in rural areas and informal settlements in urban areas.
"Some Indonesians experience limited access to clean water, while other residents lack access to adequate sanitation," he said.
This situation highlights the urgency to achieve the national target of universal access to clean water and sanitation both this year and the year to come. Water needs become essential in everyday life, becoming the foundation of people's welfare and sustainability.
Therefore, said Bobby, strong synergy between the government and the business world is considered crucial in overcoming this challenge. The collaboration between the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry is expected to make a significant contribution in overcoming this challenge and achieving the goal of universal access to clean water and sanitation.
He said that the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry played an active role as a strategic partner of the government to support innovation in overcoming global climate change in order to overcome the challenges of clean water availability and make water a source of clean and renewable energy.
"All parties with an interest in water problems are invited to join forces and contribute to creating sustainable solutions for water challenges in Indonesia," he said.
"Collaboration between the government and the private sector is key in moving water and sanitation infrastructure," Bobby Gafur added.
Supporting policy measures, and a clear regulatory framework could open the door to larger investments in the development of water and sanitation infrastructure projects.
