Semarang Prosecutor's Office Auctions Land Assets In Prison For Money Laundering Wife Of Former Tax Office Official

SEMARANG - The District Attorney's Office (Kejari) of Semarang City, Central Java, auctioned off a plot of land covering an area of 2,390 square meters which was the result of a robbery from the convict in the money laundering case (TPPU), Sri Fitri Wahyuni.

Head of the Section for Management of Evidence and Looted Goods at the Semarang City Prosecutor's Office, Eviyawati, said that the land auction located in Mlongo District, Jepara Regency was carried out by the Semarang State Property and Auction Service Office.

"It is offered at a price of Rp922 million, with an auction guarantee of Rp230 million," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, May 7.

He said the auction was carried out after the money laundering offense case had permanent legal force.

The assets belonging to the convict who was auctioned were evidence that was confiscated based on a court decision whose proceeds from the sale would be deposited into the state treasury.

Sri Fitri Wahyuni, wife of a former official at the Semarang Pratama Pranoto Aries Wibowo Tax office, is being tried for money laundering proceeds from the bribery of the company that manages taxes through unscrupulous employees of the Directorate General of Taxes.

Fitri was sentenced to 2 years in prison by the Semarang Corruption Court in 2012.

The assets in the form of land belonging to the defendant were obtained by buying with money originating from gifts or promises from a number of companies that take care of taxes.
