Deputy Chairperson Of MPR 1999-2004 Dies
JAKARTA - Deputy Chairperson of the MPR RI for the 1999-2004 period, Brigadier General TNI (Ret.) Drs HA Nazri Adlani passed away at the age of 86 in Jakarta, Monday, May 6, at around 22.00 WIB.
The body was buried in his hometown of Ujung Gading, West Pasaman Regency, West Sumatra, Tuesday, May 7. The Regional Secretary (Sekda) of West Sumatra Province (West Sumatra) Hansastri expressed his condolences.
"On behalf of ourselves and the local government (Pemda) we express our deep condolences for the death of the deceased. May the deceased get the best place by Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala (SWT)," he said while welcoming the body in the VIP room of the Minangkabau International Airport (BIM) Padang Pariaman, Tuesday, May 7, was confiscated by Antara.
He said the deceased had contributed a lot to the Indonesian nation when he served as Deputy Chair of the MPR RI, also as a cleric.
His role was also felt by West Sumatra in general and especially for the deceased's hometown in West Pasaman.
In addition to having served as Deputy Chairperson of the MPR RI for the 1999-2004 period, Brigadier General TNI (Ret.) Drs HA Nazri Adlani has also held several other strategic positions at the national level, such as as the Chairperson of the 2015-2020 MUI Advisory Board and the General Chairperson of the Islamic Ormas Friendship Institute (LPOI).

In 2000 he was elected General Chairperson of Al Ittihadiyah and held the post until 2010.
Brigadier General TNI (Ret.) HA Nazri Adlani also devoted himself to education as Chancellor of North Sumatra UIN for the 1987-1995 term.
The late Ahmad Nazri Adlani was born in Ujung Gading, West Pasaman, on May 1, 1938 as son of Sheikh Haji Mohammad Adlani, founder of the Adlaniyah Islamic Boarding School and Nursyakiah.
