In Addition To Lowering Chiron Missiles, Indonesian Air Force Deploys 24 Snipers To Guard WWF Bali 2024
JAKARTA - The Wing Command I of the Indonesian Air Force Kopasgat deployed 24 snipers or snipers to secure the World Water Forum (WWF) Summit which was held in Bali.
"If the Matan team itself and the 24 snipers are involved in the Summit in Bali later," said Wing Commander of Kopasgat Command I Colonel Pas Helmi A. Nange in Jakarta, Tuesday, May 7, confiscated by Antara.
Helmi said the 24 snipers were part of 100 Wing Kopasgat personnel sent to Bali to guard the activities of the summit.
Helmi continued, before being assigned to Bali, his troops would join the Presidential Security Forces (Paspampres).
They will be trained again with the Paspampres team before finally officially being tasked with guarding WWF activities which take place from May 18 to 25, 2024.
Not only personnel, Helmi will also deploy several main weapons systems such as Chiron Missiles and Smart Hunters.
Chiron missiles were deployed to guard the airspace in Bali during the WWF Summit. Meanwhile, Smart Hunters, which are radar detection devices, will be deployed to monitor air activity.
Helmi could not confirm at which point the defense equipment and troops belonging to his unit would be placed. "That will be determined by Paspampres itself," said Helmi.
With the deployment of these troops, Helmi ensured that the security of WWF activities would run optimally.
Previously, the TNI Headquarters would deploy 12,000 special personnel to maintain the running of WWF activities in Bali.
"They are tasked with security and health care there," said Head of the Indonesian Armed Forces Information Center (Kapuspen) Major General TNI Nugraha Gumilar when contacted in Jakarta, Monday, April 29.
Gumilar explained that WWF activities will take place from 18 to 25 May 2024. Its own personnel began to carry out security at the location one week before the event took place.
This is done so that the personnel can carry out monitoring and mapping of locations that must be closely guarded.
Gumilar continued that his party did not only carry out ground security but also in the airspace and sea around the Island of the Gods. "Our KRI has deployed it in the Bali Strait and Lombok Strait," he said.

"For preparation, if there is an evacuation, there will be a natural disaster or eruption of Mount Agung, we will prepare aircraft for evacuation there as well," he said.
Not to forget, health workers are also provided by the TNI to anticipate casualties from natural disasters that occur in Bali.
