Kominfo Opens International Standard Device Testing Lab, Free For MSMEs
JAKARTA - Minister of Communication and Information Budi Arie Setiadi hopes that the presence of the Indonesia Digital Test House or the Center for Testing of Telecommunication Devices can accelerate digital transformation in Indonesia.
Inaugurated on Tuesday, May 7 in Tapos, Depok, IDTH from the Directorate General of Resources and Postal and Informatics Devices (SDPPI) of the Ministry of Communication and Informatics is equipped with various international-class devices.
This device will be used to test digital device features such as radio frequency telecommunication features, electromagnetic compliance, electronic safety, and specific absorption rate (SAR).
"This testing facility aims to ensure the safety and security of telecommunications device users throughout Indonesia, standardize export products and import devices, and ensure interoperability and protection of inter-device interference," said Budi.
This inauguration also marks a significant increase in capacity at IDTH. From 2023 there were 644 features tested, and along with the addition of equipment and technology development, in 2024 it is projected to increase to around 1600 features.
"Meanwhile, from 2025 to 2026, IDTH is estimated to be able to serve up to 5,000 features per year," he added.

Kominfo is also committed to supporting digital transformation for MSMEs, by facilitating free testing of devices and developing their innovations or tools.
"We also pay serious attention to facilitating local industry players and MSMEs so that they can test devices and develop innovation by utilizing various equipment in IDTH, if for MSMEs we are free, so MSMEs, local entrepreneurs don't have to pay," he said.
