KPK Summons Antonius Kosasih As Witness In PT Taspen's Fictitious Investment Case

JAKARTA - The investigation team of the Corruption Eradication Commission examined the President Director of PT Taspen (Persero) Antonius Nicholas Stephanus Kosasih in investigating cases of alleged corruption with a fictitious investment mode in the company he leads in the 2019 fiscal year.

"The person concerned was present at around 11.00 WIB and is being examined as a witness," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri when confirmed in Jakarta, Tuesday, May 7.

Ali has not disclosed what material investigators will extract in the investigation, Kosasih.

He explained that the examination of Kosasih was carried out regarding his position as Investment Director of PT Taspen in 2019-2020 and his position as President Director of PT Taspen in 2020 until now.

Previously, the KPK on April 29, 2024 revealed that its investigative team had examined the Senior Vice President (VP) of Investment in the Capital Market and Money Market of PT Taspen Labuan Nababan to be examined regarding the management of investment funds in PT Taspen worth IDR 1 trillion.

"Senior Vice President Investment in the Capital Market and Money Market of PT Taspen (Persero) for the period March 1, 2021 - now Lubuan Nababan, witnesses are present and confirmed, including related to the placement and management of investment in Taspen funds of approximately Rp. 1 trillion." said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri when confirmed in Jakarta, Monday.

Regarding this case, the KPK has also examined the Head of the Capital Market and Money Market Division of PT Taspen 2016-2019 Patar Sitanggang as a witness related to the same case.

The examination of Patar is scheduled to take place on April 19, 2024, but the KPK has also not announced the results of the examination of the person concerned.

The Corruption Eradication Commission on March 8, 2024 announced that it had started an investigation into a suspected corruption case with a fictitious investment mode at PT Taspen (Persero).

"It is true, with the follow-up of public reports related to allegations of corruption under the authority of the KPK, evidence is currently being collected related to investigations into alleged corruption in fictitious investment activities at PT Taspen (Persero) for the 2019 fiscal year," said Ali Fikri at the KPK's Red and White Building, South Jakarta, Friday (8/3).

Ali said the alleged corruption case was also suspected of involving several other companies and was estimated to have caused state financial losses of up to hundreds of billions of rupiah.

The spokesman with the background of the prosecutor also revealed that the KPK investigating team had named a number of parties as suspects in the case.

However, in accordance with the policy of the anti-corruption agency, the parties designated as suspects and the complete description of the case will be presented when the suspects are detained.

"The construction of the case that ensnared the parties designated as suspects, including anyone who is a suspect, has not been able to announce it to the public until we consider all stages of collecting evidence to be sufficient," he said.

However, the KPK said that it had imposed foreign prevention on two people consisting of one state administrator and one private party.

During the investigation process, said Ali, the KPK had searched seven locations, including five locations that were searched on Thursday (7/3), covering two houses in South Cipinang Besar, Jatinegara, East Jakarta, one house in Menteng District, Central Jakarta, one house in Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta, and one apartment unit at Belleza Apartment, South Jakarta.

During the search, evidence was found, including documents or records of financial investment, electronic devices and a sum of money in foreign currency denominations which are suspected to later explain the alleged actions of the suspects.

Meanwhile, two other locations were searched on Friday (26/4), namely the office of a private party located at Office 8 Building SCBD, South Jakarta and the Office of PT Taspen (Persero), Central Jakarta.
