OIKN Curation Of Local Products To Be USED As A Souvenir During The RI Anniversary Celebration At IKN

The Capital Authority of the Archipelago (IKN) is preparing to curate and introduce local products as souvenirs that reflect the wealth of East Kalimantan's potential in welcoming the national agenda of Indonesian Independence Day on August 17, 2024 at the IKN location.

"We are committed to making local products a souvenir from the strength of local wisdom for upcoming state guests," said Director of Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy of the IKN Authority, Muhsin Palinrungi in Samarinda, quoted from Antara, Monday 6 May.

He stated the importance of local wisdom integration in the concept of sustainable modern city development. During the 17 August 2024 commemoration at IKN led directly by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, the IKN Authority provides access for guests to see and buy local products in the capital city of the archipelago, so that the product can develop and be preserved as part of the creative economy. IKN concept as a modern city that integrates local wisdom with smart cities is the main focus of the authority.

Muhsin emphasized that there is no conflict between modern cities and aspects of conservation. "We are trying to create a balance, where local cultural aspects such as forest sustainability that has been preserved by our ancestors, can be maintained and integrated in urban development," he added. Development of local wisdom is not only limited to the core area of IKN, but also extends to the villages and sub-districts around it. "The surrounding area outside IKN is a strategic partner in cultural development. We invite them to maintain local wisdom, which is part of their identity and cultural power," Muhsin said. Muhsin also mentioned collaboration with the National Research and Innovation Agency to ensure that local wisdom is maintained and developed. "We plan to involve districts and cities in East Kalimantan in local culture development, especially after the celebration of August 17 later," he said.

Ahead of IKN development, Muhsin invited all people of East Kalimantan to support and participate in developing local traditions and customs. "Let's protect and develop local culture together, so that IKN can be a common pride and the benefits are felt by the whole community," said Muhsin. IKN Authority is committed to building a new, sustainable and modern capital city. Located in East Kalimantan, IKN is designed to become a center of government and culture that prioritizes local wisdom and the latest technology.
