Visiting Soekarno-Hatta Airport Customs And Excise, Trade Minister Zulhas Checks The Implementation Of Migrant Worker Delivery Rules

TANGERANG - Minister of Trade (Mendag) Zulkifli Hasan checked the implementation of the permit for goods sent by Indonesian migrant workers (PMI) from abroad at Soekarno-Hatta Airport (Soetta) Tangerang, Banten this afternoon.

The check is in line with the enactment of the Minister of Trade Regulation (Permendag) Number 7 of 2024 concerning the second amendment to the Minister of Trade Regulation Number 36 of 2023 today, Monday, May 6.

"Pascara revisi tidak ada soal lagi, lancar, apalagi tadi itu yang landing sebagiannya dari Hong Kong, Taiwan, Dubai, dari negara-negara yang memang masuk dan keluar tenaga kerja itu terdidik terlatih," katanya saat konferensi pers di Bandara Soetta, Tangerang, Banten, Senin, 6 Mei.

The man who is familiarly called Zulhas said that with the revision of the regulation, PMI shipments were exempted from the limited import prohibition (laltas). Including, the number, type and condition of the goods.

The regulation for importing goods sent by the TNI will also refer to the Minister of Finance Regulation (PMK) Number 141 of 2023 concerning Provisions for Importing Indonesian Migrant Workers' Goods.

To ensure the truth of PMI's shipments, PMIs who send these goods must have been recorded on SISKOP2MI or at the Indonesian Citizen Care Portal and this data is integrated into the system between BP2MI, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Directorate General of Customs and Excise of the Ministry of Finance.

"Hopefully with the revision of the memandag everything related to PMI can be resolved," he said.

Previously, it was reported that the rules regarding PMI's luggage were contained in the first point of changing the Permendag 7/2024, namely there were no restrictions on the type of goods, except for goods that were prohibited from importing and dangerous goods.

Such as rough oranges, non-pharmacy precursors, russylose (NC), explosives, ozone coating destroyers (BPO), cooling system-based goods, hazardous materials, hydrofluorocarbons (HFC), non-new lithium batteries, and non-B3 waste.
