Deputy Chairperson Of MPR His Cow Auction To Be Donated To Palestine

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of the Indonesian People's Consultative Assembly Ahmad Muzani participated in auctioning off his PO-type cattle weighing up to 950 kg.

The cow was also successfully sold at a price of Rp250 million at a contestation and auction event in the Kemayoran area, Jakarta, Saturday, May 4. He said all of his funds would be donated to Palestine.

"Later on, all of the money from this auction will be distributed to our brothers and sisters in Palestine through Baznas," said Muzani in his statement, quoted from Antara.

According to him, the contestation and auction of cattle is an effort to realize meat self-sufficiency.

He hopes that the Indonesian Cattle Breeders and Breeders Association (APPSI) of the MPR Leadership Cup can trigger the interest of young Jakartans to raise cattle in various regions.

"Hopefully this activity can stimulate the community, especially the residents of DKI Jakarta to become cattle breeders. Because actually being a cattle farmer is very encouraging and fun, even profitable," he said.

In addition, Muzani also hopes that young people will be interested in investing in cattle farming by building land throughout Indonesia.

Meanwhile, APPSI Chairman Dadang assessed that events like this are usually held outside the capital, but this time it was held in Jakarta to attract potential young farmers.

"By holding a cattle contest in Jakarta, it is hoped that it can attract young breeders and also support the government in realizing beef self-sufficiency in the coming year," concluded Dadang.
