Tradition Leads To Death Of STIP Cadets

JAKARTA - The cadet of the Jakarta Shipping Sciences (STIP) High School, Putu Satria Ananta Rustika, was killed by his senior, TRS. The series of acts of persecution is said to have originated from the tradition of prosecution.

"There are those who call it a cadet tradition, there is action against juniors, because there is something wrong according to senior perceptions," said North Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Gidion Arif Setyawan to reporters, Saturday, May 4.

From the results of the investigation, the suspect TRS considers Putu Satria Ananta Rustika and four colleagues who are level one cadets to have made mistakes. They wore sports clothes when they entered class.

"This perception of 'action' is a senior-junior perception. Some according to seniors, this happens to be all of the five (junior) level 1 cadets who do something that seniors think is wrong," he said.

"What this (junior) did, entered the classroom wearing a sports suit. In their lives according to seniors, this is wrong," continued Gideon.

So, the victim and four of his colleagues were taken to the toilet. There, the suspect who was also with several of his colleagues began to press.

Until finally, the suspect carried out the persecution which led to the death of Putu Satria Ananta Rustika.

"The action using excessive violence, violence that results in the death of people's lives, is clearly not allowed," said Gideon.
