Leeds needed Ipswich to lose with a win over Southampton to be able to jump over the top two teams in the Championship standings.

But Daniel Farke's Leeds lost 1-2 to Southampton on Elland Road, which means Farke will face former club Norwich in the semi-finals of the playoffs.

One of the most popular Ipswich fans, Ed Sheeran, did not attend the club's success celebration of climbing into the top strata at Portman Road, as fans entered the pitch and lit a blue flare when the match was declared over.

The club from Suflokk will now pocket at least 200 million pounds from television revenue in the coming years. Ipsich was previously sold to US investors for a value of only 40 million pounds.

Huddersfield has mathematically been confirmed to be relegated before the match against Ipswich, having lost on goal difference to its competitors at bottom of the standings.

Burns removed anxiety from the hosts' fans when he fired a low shot into the bottom corner of Huddersfield's goal in the 27th minute.

A loan winger from Chelsea, Hutchinson, became one of the Ipwich stars this season. He then made sure Ipswich fans could relax more by scoring a second goal early in the second half.

West Brom won 3-0 over Preston to secure their playoffs, and will meet Southampton.

There was also a drama at the bottom of the standings when Birmingham was relegated in their first season with NFL legend Tom Brady becoming the club's minority owner.

Their 1-0 win over Norwich was not enough to save Birmingham.

Blackburn Rovers damaged Leicester's party as champions of the Championship, with a 2-0 win at the King Power Stadium. The result also saved Blackburn and thwarted Leicester closing the season with a collection of 100 points.
