Malang Sidak Immigration To A Company That Employs Foreign Workers

JAKARTA - The Class I Immigration Office of the Malang Immigration Checkpoint (TPI) conducted a surprise inspection (sidak) of a number of companies that employ foreign workers in an effort to anticipate illegal foreign workers.

Head of the Regional Office (Kakanwil) of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) of East Java Heni Yuwono in Malang City, East Java, Saturday, May 4, said that Malang Immigration conducted inspections on four companies in its working area.

"We anticipate illegal foreign workers in our working area," Heni said, quoted from Antara.

Heni explained, after the pandemic due to the spread of the Corona virus several years ago, the number of foreign workers entering Indonesian territory, especially East Java, was recorded to have increased.

According to him, in an effort to ensure that the foreign workers work in accordance with applicable regulations, the East Java Ministry of Law and Human Rights together with Immigration Malang conduct direct monitoring in the field.

"Moreover, the Malang Immigration work area is among the most foreigners who have a residence permit to work or study or students," he added.

On that occasion, the Head of the Malang Immigration Office, Galih Priya Kartika, added that the inspection was carried out in the context of the Jagratara Operation which was carried out simultaneously in the East Java region.

In the operation, continued Galih, intensive supervision was carried out of the company's activities in its working area. The four companies that were investigated were in the Pasuruan Regency and Malang City areas.

"We are intensifying surveillance of the presence of foreigners in our area. From our findings, there is one company owned by foreigners in the Blimbing area, Malang City, whose legality is doubtful," explained Galih.

He explained that the findings were due to the address given, immigration officers did not get industrial activity, but only ordinary houses. According to the permit pocketed by Malang Immigration, the foreign worker has a culinary business.

"According to the permit given, foreigners should have a business in the typical Italian food sector, but in the field they were not found," he said.

With these findings, he continued, Malang Immigration will pursue and deepen further. If irregularities are found, then his party will process them according to the Immigration Act.

"We certainly want to prevent immigration violations and protect the public from things that could threaten the stability of the country's security and economy," he said.

During the operation, strict supervision was carried out, including examination of immigration documents and verification of the identities of foreign workers working in companies targeted for operations.

"We want to give a message that we will not tolerate immigration violations. This proactive step is expected to have a positive impact on maintaining security and order in our working area," he said.
