The Ministry Of Trade Calls Morocco A Hub For The African Market
JAKARTA - The Directorate General of National Export Development (PEN) of the Ministry of Trade (Kemendag) has made Morocco a hub for the African market.
"Why was Morocco chosen because Morocco wanted us to make it a hub for the African market," said PEN Director General Didi Sumedi quoting Antara.
Didi said that the Ministry of Trade had carried out a trade mission to Morocco and resulted in a potential transaction of 16.98 million US dollars or equivalent to Rp276 billion.
"Alhamdulillah, as the first breakthrough we have produced the potential for the transaction," he said.
The purpose of the trade mission to Morocco is to increase Indonesia's export penetration to the market of countries in Africa.
"Although in Africa alone we already have an Indonesia Trade Promotion Center (ITPC) in two countries, namely Nigeria and South Africa. We Africa is 'convex' through these three hubs, because the potential in Africa is quite large where the demand is in line with our national products needed in Africa," said Didi.
For information, Morocco has an important position for Indonesia, especially in its role as a non-traditional trading partner and as a hub to enter the North African market.

In addition, this activity is intended to build business cooperation by bringing together Indonesian business actors and their potential partners from Morocco and the surrounding country.
