Democrats Support 'Presidential Club' To Exchange Thoughts

JAKARTA - The Democratic Party supports the idea of the elected President, Prabowo Subianto, who wants to form a collection of pre-presidentials or the Presidential Club. Member of the Democratic DPP High Council, Syarief Hasan, assessed that the Indonesian president could exchange ideas regarding the nation.

According to Syarief, Prabowo can get input from his seniors. On the other hand, the previous presidents such as the 5th President Megawati Soakrnoputri, the 6th President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) and President Joko Widodo can also accept the ideas that Prabowo will offer.

"This idea is very good, where the leader or President of the Republic of Indonesia can provide input to the new President or vice versa," said Syarief, Friday, May 3.

Syarief said that the existence of a presidential club will also be a means of exchanging experiences and thoughts between national leaders.

Prabowo conveyed his policies to the previous President to exchange ideas to build the nation and people," he said.

The Presidential Special Staff Coordinator, Ari Dwipayana, responded to the proposal to establish Prabowo Subianto's 'Presidential Club'. He emphasized the importance of a president to continue to stay in touch with all former presidents.

"There is or is no Presidential Club, the President and all former presidents are very important to stay in touch," said Ari.

According to Ari, this has also been done by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) so far, by always maintaining friendship with former presidents, former vice presidents, and other national figures.

"What is certain (consaturation) will be useful for the progress of the nation and state," he said.
