Hosts of the FIBA World Cup U-19 can automatically immediately participate in the tournament. This is different from the senior category which has to go through the qualifying round first.
In addition, there is no hosting fee that Indonesia needs to pay if it becomes the host. However, Indonesia still has an obligation in the management and management of the organizing committee.
The General Chairperson (Ketum) of PP Perbasi, Danny Kosasih, assessed that FIBA's trust in choosing Indonesia as a candidate to participate in the FIBA World Cup U-19 host bidding should be welcomed.
"So, Perbasi must immediately prepare a team to go there, if indeed the U-19 World Championship will be held in Indonesia," said Danny.
In addition to discussing the U-19 World Championships, FIBA's presence to Indonesia is also related to the international basketball master plan to open an office in Jakarta.
