President Jokowi: The Government Is Trying To Maintain The Balance Of Food Commodity Prices
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said the government is trying to maintain a balance of food commodity prices that benefit consumers and also for farmers and breeders.
President Jokowi while visiting the Seketeng Traditional Market in Sumbawa, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Province, Thursday, May 2, stated that he had checked prices, both and tended to fall, such as shallots, prices were already Rp. 40 thousand, garlic was also Rp. 40 thousand, cayenne pepper was Rp. 50 thousand.
The President in an interview session at the Seketeng Market, Sumbawa, followed by the Presidential Secretariat network in Jakarta, said that apart from onion commodities, he also reviewed the fluctuations in egg prices, chicken, and chicken eggs which also experienced a downward trend in prices in the local market.
The same thing was experienced by rice commodities reported by the President at a reasonable average price.

Also attending to accompany President Jokowi on the market review agenda were Minister of Trade (Mendag) Zulkifli Hasan and Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Andi Amran Sulaiman.
