The Ministry Of Tourism And Creative Economy Calls The Indonesian Football U-23 National Team Has A Positive Impact On The Indonesian Tourism Sector
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) said that the entry of the U-23 Indonesian National Team in the 2024 U-23 Asian Cup until the semi-finals had a positive impact on the tourism sector in the country.
"It has a huge impact, so one of the things when talking about tourism is not only talking about nature, not only talking about uniqueness, but also talking about 'events' and'sports'," said Deputy for Industry and Investment at the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy Rizki Handayani in Yogyakarta, quoted from Antara, Thursday, May 2.
According to Rizki, the U-23 Indonesian national team that won several times, starting from the preliminary round to the semifinals, according to Rizki, it was enough to make the world community interested in knowing more about Indonesia, including its tourism.
"The Asian Cup in which Indonesia won several times made people (insulations) what and what's going on in Indonesia," he said.
According to him, many countries are currently utilizing sports as a way to invite or promote their tourist destinations.
"Through sports events or other events, it can be encouraged and developed," he said.
Therefore, he said that Indonesia must take advantage of this opportunity through integrated tourism promotions.
