Related to this, the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said preparations for WWF had entered the final stage.
"Earlier, I attended the final touch preparation for the World Water Forum which will be held in Bali on 19-20 (May 2024). Actually earlier because there were several other meetings before. The preparations were final," said Coordinating Minister Luhut in his official statement, quoted on Tuesday, April 30.
Luhut said the forum was an important meeting for global leaders and water experts who are expected to be a productive event to discuss water sustainability issues around the world.
In addition, Luhut also expressed high optimism regarding the implementation of the forum which will be attended by 14 heads of state and around 50,000 participants.
"There are 14 heads of state and 50,000 (participants) who will attend. And that Mr. Sandiaga Uno has smiled because all of his hotels have run out," he said.
According to Luhut, apart from being the center of global discussion, this forum is also considered to be a very good momentum for the Indonesian tourism sector. Therefore, preparations from logistics, region to security must also be guaranteed.
"I think the tourism momentum is very good and the Governor (Bali) has also stated readiness. The TNI and Polri are also ready to carry out security there," he said.
Thus, the World Water Forum in Bali is not only expected to be a platform that produces innovative solutions to global water problems, but also as a tangible example of Indonesia's success in hosting large-scale international events.
